Wow wow wow!!! We have been delighted to see the photographs of the sunflowers growing across the Heatons this year. We have been so impressed by the green fingered-ness of Heaton’s residents. Sadly the slug population of the Heaton’s has also been well fed in a number of gardens! Don’t forget there is an official competition for the tallest sunflower, the one with the largest head, and the one with the most sunflowers on one stem. The competition runs until 31st August. However your sunflowers might be ready now! If you think your sunflowers have reached their peak, please can you take a photograph with a ruler or tape measure showing the full height of the sunflower or width of the head and submit it to Sustainable Living in Heatons.

There are lots of ways you can submit your photographs: via Facebook, Twitter and of course via email. The winners will be announced in September and in the October edition of Heatons Post.
