Heatons’ Hedgehogs

This article was originally written for the June edition of Heatons Post

People of the Heatons, hedgehogs need your help!  Can your street come together to help this vulnerable species?  By connecting five gardens you can create a hedgehog highway. A network of highways across the Heatons will give our prickly friends the space they need to thrive.

To find out more come along to the SLH Annual General Meeting on Thursday 9th June at 7.30pm at The Magnet Freehouse, with guest speakers from Cheshire Wildlife Trust who are about to launch a new project in Stockport. One objective is to turn the Heatons into a hedgehog friendly area, encouraging residents to create hedgehog highways and make their gardens and greenspaces better for hedgehogs. Cheshire Wildlife Trust plans to have a base one day a week at Heaton Norris park.

Come along to hear what SLH has been doing this year, and about the work of Cheshire Wildlife Trust and its plans for The Heatons.

We will be in the upstairs room at The Magnet Freehouse 51 Wellington Road North, Heaton Norris SK4 1HJ, so pick up a drink in the bar on your way up to join us. Everyone is welcome.
