May 30 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
The SLH orchard trees have been pruned, the grass around them cut and there’s been a lovely display of fruit blossom, with some still in flower. But the nearby bushes are creeping towards our trees! Can you join us to remove them? It will be fun, using “tree poppers” to lever them out of the ground, roots and all. We can also cut back branches on nearby trees, do a little weeding around the base of our fruit tress and use a “post popper” to remove the support posts that have now done their job.
Wear sturdy shoes and long sleeves and gloves and bring your refreshments for the tea break. We will have some tools, but if you have your own secateurs, loppers and trowel that will help. The location is here, accessed from either Meadows Rd or Nelstrop Rd, Heaton Chapel. Please see the Planting and Growing section for more information about this project.
