SLH Evening Bat Walks — Spring Series

March 30 @ 7:30 pm - May 1 @ 7:30 pm

Our local bats will emerge from hibernation during March. If you would like the pleasure of hearing and seeing them fly over the River Mersey then join one of our guided evening bat observation walks this spring. We will use bat monitors to listen to and watch the bats as they swoop overhead.

The walks will take place two or three times a week from late March until late April. Tickets are available on our Eventbrite page.

The walks start at dusk should take about an hour and will be weather dependent. You will need sturdy shoes and warm clothes.

Booking is essential, as there are a limited number of places for each walk. Family groups are welcome. Please book a place for all adults and children attending. If you find you are unable to attend please cancel your ticket(s) as soon as possible, so that others can take your place(s). Past bat walks have been popular and have been fully booked. Cancel through Eventbrite or by contacting info@slheatons.org

These walks are free, but we ask for a voluntary donation. We suggest £6.00 per adult, payable on the night. If you are in a local organisation or group with limited funds and would like to discuss having your own walk, please contact us.

Having booked for the bat walk, you will receive more detailed information and meeting details by email a few days before the event.

If you need more information, check out our dedicated Bats page or contact us at info@slheatons.org

The bat walks are led by volunteers from Sustainable Living in the Heatons, trained by ecologist Jeff Clarke, and with funding from the Stockport Hydro Environmental Challenge Fund to purchase the bat monitors.
