Hedge Maintenance

Hedge maintenance session. We’ll be clearing the path running alongside this ancient hedge, weeding around the hedge, threading the branches and picking up litter. Come and join us to take part, or have a chat about what we are doing. Wear sturdy shoes and long sleeves and bring gloves if you have them, although we will come with equipment. We will be following Covid guidelines. We will work in groups of 6, maintain social distances, and ask everyone to bring…

Bike Ride: Reddish Vale

We’re heading over to one of our popular destinations once more, the Reddish Vale visitor centre with its friendly cafe and small exhibition area. Our route is the Trans Pennine Trail through the green corridor by the river Tame, and is very largely off-road along good trails. Bike Ride: Macclesfield Canal via Chadkirk & Middlewood Way

August 8 @ 10:15 am - 4:30 pm

A longer ride, using the Trans Pennine Trail, Alan Newton Way and the Middlewood Way we’ll finish up at the small cafe at Bailey’s Trading Post on the Macclesfield canal, though nearby are the Boars Head inn and the Anson engine museum. And you could continue on a short & quiet, albeit rough track into Lyme Park. Almost all off-road. Via part of the new Heatons Link: along Buckingham Rd & Nelstrop Lane. Then along the Fallowfield Loop. We’ll go by the Whitworth and Manchester Museum, and along the Oxford Rd cycleway to St Peter’s Square.
