Join Us on A Bat Walk!

Our popular bat walks are starting again in mid August. There will be a few walks a week until early September.

These evening bat walls will give you the chance to hear and observe the bats using our special bat monitoring equipment. The insects will be out and the bats will be hunting at dusk!

Please book your place on our Eventbrite page: Evening bat walks by the river in Heaton Mersey Tickets, Multiple Dates | Eventbrite

Families and children are welcome. Here is some feedback from previous walks:

“I and two friends went on the Bats walk and absolutely loved it.  We saw a considerable amount of bats, but we heard loads and loads of activity when it got dark and that was fascinating – there is so much going on around us that we do not notice. We were lucky to hear the activity of several types of species of bats. Truly recommend, for children and adults alike. Thank you for the warm hosting and sharing of knowledge about bats.  A lovely evening and a great way to enjoy and protect bats.”

“Thank you so much for organising the Bat Walk which my son age 12 and I really enjoyed. We both thought it was great to be able to do something unusual like this that connects us with local wildlife and gives the opportunity to see (and hear) these beautiful creatures.
The volunteers spent extra time making sure my son enjoyed it and was supported to join in. The echolocation monitoring equipment was brilliant and well explained so we could hear different bats at different frequencies. It was nice to do the Bat Walk with a group, just the right size group, making it a more social experience as well.”
